I found chiropractic as an eleven-year-old national level springboard and platform diver in London, Ontario, after one too many hard hits to the water. Diving from any sort of height requires a very strong upper body to withstand the force of the water and protect the head and neck; unfortunately, my upper body at age 11 needed some improvement. The impact proved too much for me, and multiple times I would leave practice not being able to move my neck. One of my teammates recommended seeing his chiropractor, and the rest is history
Chiropractic not only brought me back to the sport I loved and allowed me to continue diving across Canada, but it gave me the philosophical foundation that now governs my life. The body has an immense healing potential, greater than we know. This power is controlled by the nervous system, which is housed in the spine. Chiropractic simply made sense to me. I continued seeing my chiropractor regularly, whether I had symptoms or not, to maintain the integrity of my nervous system, better my performance, and jump start my healing response any time I felt I was getting sick.
While in school at Palmer College of Chiropractic, I developed an intense passion for helping families, particularly women with young children. I am not a mother myself, but I have an incredible respect for the many hats a mother must wear. My goal is to enhance the potential of every woman to live the life she chooses, to be the mom and partner she wants to be, and to have the capacity to adapt to the changes of everyday life without the distraction of symptoms.
